The Monday Pipeline Trap

Why a 'healthy' pipeline on Monday can still miss the quarter—and the one question that fixes your forecast.

Every Monday, teams celebrate green stages and full calendars. By Friday, the same deals sit in the same stage with new excuses attached.

The trap is measuring activity instead of evidence of decision progress.

Before you accept a forecast commit, ask one question:

What changed in the buyer's process since last week—not in our CRM notes, but in their org?

If the answer is “nothing,” the deal is not advancing. It is aging.

Three quick signals that a deal is real:

  1. New stakeholder entered with a defined concern (not a courtesy intro)
  2. Mutual action item with a customer-owned deadline
  3. Document or workshop scheduled that produces an internal artifact

Skip the pipeline theater. Track decision movement. Your quarter will thank you.
